Apple is now officially the biggest company in the world and is getting bigger and bigger by the day. It was only a couple of months ago that Apple announced its plan of entering the education market by putting all school textbooks in its iPads; this means that iPad would be an indispensable gadget for all US students.

Now there are rumours that Apple is getting into the car business by providing some gadgets for car dashboards. With car itself being an indispensable commodity of modern life, it seems to be Apple’s next big step to spread and diversify.
Mike Elgan argues that since people consume a lot ‘in cars’ it makes sense if Apple invests on in-car user interfaces. An installed iPad in cars could bring all that a consumer expects from apple all in one place: GPS, iTunes, iCloud, PC, videos, etc. It does not need an extra cable for charging and it uses the sound system of the car. Now if gas gauge, speedometer, odometer, etc are also provided via an app would make a good bundle for anybody.
Let’s wait and see whether this rumour comes true or Apple has other plans for diversification.
