Arnold Schwarzenegger is starring in a new action flick, being made by Korean director Kim Jee-Woon.

In the film, a classical western, aptly titled The Last Stand,Schwarzenegger stars as Sheriff Owens, who, together with his rookie deputies, makes a stand and intercepts a notorious wanted drug kingpin hurtling toward the border at 200 mph. in a specially outfitted car with a hostage and a wild bunch of gang members after a spectacular escape from an FBI prisoner convoy.

There are a lot of hot actresses in the industry today. No list of the top hot actresses could ever be all inclusive; however I have strived to get a good cross-section of hot actresses from a variety of age groups, ethnic backgrounds, and ages. Often the hot actress lists will only focus on a particular segment of Hollywood, and I want to expand on that and look at women that may not be considered one of the top 11 actresses by the mainstream Hollywood media, but they demand to be on the list for a variety of reasons. Let me know in the comments at the end of this article who you would like to be on your own list of the top 11 hot actresses.

Some of these actresses may be older, in trouble with the law, from a foreign Country, or active in Bollywood instead of Hollywood. Each actress on this list though has had some strong acting roles as well as relatively hot good looks. Here is my choice for the top 11 hot actresses.

11. Lindsay Lohan

We know Lindsay Lohan is not looking good without her makeup, but hey, most of the famous hot women don’t look glamorous when they wake up in the morning with no makeup on. Lindsay Lohan may be considered a “bad girl”, but she will grow out of it the way Britney Spears did.

We initially fell in love with the acting ability f Lindsay Lohan when she was 11 years old and played on the remake of the movie The Parent Trap. Although she is no longer that innocent and talented actress, she is still in the news a lot always making us laugh from her numerous run-ins with the police and various judges she has to go in front of.

Her recent appearance on Saturday Night Live shows that Lohan still has a great sense of humor regardless of everything she has been though in the past few years. Her Disney movie acting career is long over, however this bad girl can once again star in family movies if she chooses to. Ice Cube use to sing very profane lyrics with the rap group NWA, yet he now specializes in starring in family movies. If Ice Cube can become a mainstream family movie actor, then Lindsay Lohan can do it too if she chooses to.

10. Carmen Electra

Carmen Electra started off modeling, but she has since appeared in numerous movies including Scary Movie, Date Movie, and Disaster Movie. Ok, maybe she isn’t the greatest actress in the world but she does look pretty awesome.

Carmen maybe very successful, but she has also had a lot of personal turmoil. In 1998 her mother and her sister both died. Having one die would be heard, but having both of them die in the same year had to be a truly horrendous experience.

9. Barbara Mori

Barbara Mori is a television and movie actress who may be west well known to Americans for her starring role in the movie “Kites”. She began modeling when she was only 14 years old. Barbara Mori is definitely on the list of the 11 hottest actresses.

8. Patsy Kensit

Patsy Kensit looks like an older version of Lindsay Lohan. She started off in the British Pop Band Eighth Wonder but has since moved onto numerous acting roles in television and movies. Paty Kensit has acted in numerous movies including the British Soap opera Emmerdale and the television show Holby.

7. Olivia Wilde

Olivia Wilde has acted in numerous roles including appearances on the television show House and in the movie Cowboys and Aliens. Olivia Wilde probably looked her hottest in the Movie Tron: Legacy. Her athletic body was definitely on display with the outfit they had her wearing in that film. Olivia Wilde is a resident of both the United States as well as Ireland.

6. Diane Kruger

Diane Kruger is a German born actress who has played in a lot of movies including The National Treasure with Nicolas Cage. Diane speaks English, French, and German. She is a very hot actress who definitely deserves to be on the top 10 hot actresses list.

5. Elisabeth Röhm

Elisabeth Röhm may be best known by her role on televisions Law & Order. She also played the agent in Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous.

4. Rachael Bilson

Rachael Bilson has only played on a few television shows. She currently is acting on the television show “Hart of Dixie”. She has also posed for the men’s magazine Maxim. She is definitely a hotty and belongs on this list of the top 10 hot actresses. I hope that we continue to see more of her as she expands into other television and movie acting roles.

3. Danielle Panabaker

Danielle Panabaker has acted on numerous television and movie roles. She is also a very familiar face to kids who watch the Disney Channel. Danielle Panabaker is stunningly gorgeous.

2. Claudia Jordan

Claudia Jordan was one of the babes that use to hole the money boxes on the game show “Deal or no Deal”. She was also one of the contestants on season 2 of the television show “The Apprentice”. You may remember her as one of the cute ladies on the game show “The Price is Right”. Claudia Jordan is half black and half Italian. She is 100% beautiful.

In 1990 Claudia Jordan was Miss Rhode Island Teen USA in 1990. In 1997 she won the title of Miss Rhode Island USA. She became only the second black woman at the time to compete for the Miss America crown.

This busty beauty is best known for her acting role on the television show Californication. A lot of celebrity hot lists are made, but I have never seen one that has Madeline Zima on it. She is not the most well-know actress but she is so hot that it does not matter.

Ask any fanboy and they’ll tell you that one of the big reasons they go see a science fiction or genre movie is to have their face melted off by awesome special effects. Over the years there have been some amazingly convincing effects created, and we’ve compiled a list of the 10 movies that pulled off their special effects so well that they still hold up years after the original release.

Jurassic Park

Jurassic Park, even more than the original Star Wars, changed the world of effects. As soon as ILM convinced Spielberg that they could pull off the dinosaurs digitally, the entire effects industry was in for a revolution that would lead to some of the most stunning effects ever created. But none of that would have happened if not for that amazing Brachiosaurus or the jaw-dropping T-Rex in the rain. It’s been eighteen years since the release of Jurassic Park, and it still looks incredible.

Pirates of the Caribbean 2 & 3

Pirates above Star Wars? Yes for one reason: Davy Jones. So many people think that Davy Jones was just a large suit with a CGI face. Not so, the entire “costume” of Davy Jones was computer generated. If you didn’t know that you would naturally think it was a real suit, but ILM did such a great job creating it photo real that it fools almost everyone.

Star Wars Saga

Like Jurassic Park that followed it more than a decade later, Star Wars changed the world of special effects. It founded ILM and spawned a whole new generation of space operas. The Original Trilogy is perfect in almost every way effects-wise, but the Prequels have more rough spots. The reliance on CG backdrops, especially in Episode II, creates some less-than-convincing visuals (the Jedi Temple behind Obi-Wan, Mace, and Yoda for example).

Avatar

Like Davy Jones, Avatar earns its place on the list for a completely convincing photo-real Pandora. The entire jungle of Pandora, everything in it…every blade of grass…is computer generated. All of the scenes on Pandora are entirely CG, but it really fools you to think that only the Na’vi and Avatars are.

Transformers Trilogy

Giant photo-real CG robots smashing the crap out of each other and, in the third movie, nearly leveling Chicago to the ground. It’s another amazing job by ILM and legend has it that the second movie was so effects intensive that it melted a few of ILM’s machines while they were rendering some of the effects for the climatic battle in Egypt at the end of the second movie.

The Lord of the Rings

WETA’s work on The Lord of the Rings does get some whining from some fanboys online; there’s some wonky compositing in Two Towers and then there’s Legolas sliding down the Mumakil trunk. But the movies didn’t rake in the Oscars for having sub-par effects. The majority of the trilogy is pulled off amazingly well, and Gollum paved the way for Avatar and other similar movies with CG characters.

Blade Runner

To this day Blade Runner is still studied for its effects. It was made in the days of models, and the futuristic Los Angeles is a triumph in both design and execution. The long and slow shots deservedly show off what remains one of the most stunning movies ever put to film. The Final Cut didn’t really mess with the effects aside from cleaning up some matte lines and wires.

War of the Worlds (2005)

When Spielberg decided to make an alien invasion movie, he naturally turned to ILM to produce effects that fit right in with the real environments they were set in. The first tripod that shows up sets the tone, and the following destruction of a freeway is jaw dropping. The effects mostly take place in the background, but they’re completely convincing.

Independence Day

ID4 arrived at an interesting time when the age of models was passing away and people were quickly moving to CG. So while there is a large amount of model work in the movie, it does have it’s share of CG sprinkled in. The combination of the two produced a summer blockbuster and yearly July 4th television tradition that still holds up years later.

Terminator 2: Judgement Day

Combined with The Abyss, this is the movie that convinced ILM that they just might be able to pull off computer generated dinosaurs in Jurassic Park. The CG is simple, but Cameron and ILM were able to harness it to show people something they’ve never seen before. The T-1000 is a classic movie effect.
